Top Ten Books I've Read In 2011

Today is the first day of the Top Ten of 2011. There is still time to sign up and participate in the awesome contest!  Head over to Rachel's blog-Fiktshu to link your blog to her linky.

Earlier, I created a list and I had narrowed my top faves down to 25.  And today, I narrowed THAT list down to 10.  ACK-that was hard. There are sooooo many good authors on that list that I really enjoyed and that WOWED me this past year.
But, I did manage to whack it down--however painful it was, lol.

1.  Shadowfever ~ Karen Marie Moning

I am a lover of all things related to Jericho Barrons--he is THE Alpha Male-and nothing tops him, er...except for me, lol. (I so wish).

Shadowfever was the most anticipated book of 2011 for me. Karen had left book 4 off with the cliffies to end ALL cliffies---I literally threw the book across the living room at the end of it.

And the things the man says? GAH--they leave me in a puddle of goo. Here are just a few tasty morsels so you can see what I'm talking about:

"One day you will kiss a man you can't breathe without, and find that breath is of little consequence.”
“When you know who I am. Let me be your man.”
"That's it. Fate's a fickle whore. We're not going. Take your clothes off and get back in my bed.”
“You're Mac," he says. "And I'm Jericho. And nothing else matters. Never will. You exsist in a place that is beyond all rules for me. Do you understand that?"

2.  Backstage Pass ~ Olivia Cunning

Olivia got my blood stirring with her debut novel about a rock band: Sinners. All of the men are drool worthy in their own right and yes, I do have a fave. Jace--the silent bass player with a taste for kink leaves me all a twitter.
What I loved about this series is the humor, the men, the sweaty sexy times, and the men. Er...yeah...I already said that.
Here are some fave lines from this awesome read:

A tube slid across the table toward her and she caught it. "Lubrication," she said gratefully.
"Dude, so not cool. Lube is always needed for backdoor entry." Trey stuck his sucker back in his mouth and left the room.
"None of your business. Go get me a beer."
"Can I ride the beast?
He put his fingertips against her forehead. "You must be at least this tall to ride The Beast...Secure your belongings and keep your arms and legs around the ride at all times."

3. One Foot In The Grave

Chapter 32....Enough said. :)

4. Second Grave on the Left

This book is filled with great lines and funny laugh-out-loud moments. I LURVE Darynda and want to be her.  Just sayin'.

If it has tires or testicles, it's gonna give you trouble-Bumper sticker.
National Sarcasm Society, Like we Need Your support. --Bumper Sticker.
5. Lover Unleashed ~ JR Ward

There are sooooo many things I love about the BDB-with Vishous at the top of the list. I swear, my toes culr just hearing his name.

Fave lines from the book:

Vishous rolled them over, keeping them joined, and his eyes roamed her face for a long moment. "I have no words. Sixteen languages, but no words."
Then again, his sister was all but straddling that ass-wipe human's Mr. Happy, the man's arms around her, their heads all nestled in. Except they weren't looking at each other--and that was the only reason he didn't break up the party.
"Height is just a vertical number--it doens't mean shit when it comes to your character or the kind of life you live."

6. Envy ~ JR Ward

Yes, the fabulous WARDen gets two books on my fave list. It just is. She has created a world that I want to live in. And this series is gaining fast on the top ten list. The WARDen amazes me with every book. So many damn twists and turns, so many sexy Alpha heroes to drool over, and sneaky surprises that make me need a defibrillator while I read.

7.  Breaking The Rules Suzanne Brockmann

Izzy was not the fave character of this series---that title goes to Sam Starret. YUM. However, he rocked my world all the same. His humor and penchant for singing at the most inopportune times was a riot in the Troubleshooters Series. And let me just say, Suzanne is the QUEEN of SEAL romance--just sayin'.

"I'll be back, he told the wide-eyed girl...."We'll get you out of here, ASAP. But first? I gotta go help a friend and go kiss the shit out of my wife."

8.  Immortal Rider ~ Larissa Ione

Although its not a MUST, I highly suggest you read Larissa's first series-Demonica. These two combined together provide a powerful one-two punch to the solar plexus. I love them and they get better and better.

Hellooooo. I'm a Horseman of the Apocolypse, and I'm betrothed to the most infamous, most powerful demon in existence. I couldn't draw more attention to myself if I wore Lady Gaga's meat dress to a PETA convention.

9.  Toil and Trouble ~ H.P. Mallory

\

Rand, sexy Warlock vs. Sinjin, super-hawt Vamp.....fighting for the beautiful Jolie. I am so happy for author H.P. Mallory, who recently received a contract from Bantam books to write 3 more Jolie Wilkins Books! BEST NEWS EVER for 2011.

10.  The Reluctant Dom ~ Tymber Dalton

I sobbed hysterically throughout this book-and even had to stop and recover from overwhelming emotions in this book. **WARNING** Contains erotic love scenes--BDSM and meange ain't your thing? You might wanna skip this one.

One line always did me in:

Kaden's dying.

So what were your fave reads (TOP TEN) of 2011? I would so love to hear them.

CS Maxwell.

  3. Oh man, there are only two on your list I haven't followed and loved. The Fever series is worth more than one read through. Yes, the series. She hides so much information and does a fairly decent job wrapping the romance at the end. *LOL* She promises, after Dani's done, we'll see more of Barron's and Mac. Better, still waters run deep in her. Warning, the last book on your list made me cry all night.
