A surprise inheritance reunites a mixed martial arts fighter with the woman he's never forgotten in the first in a smoldering new series from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster…

Cannon Colter is quintessential hero material: chiseled jawline, shredded body—the works. He's also the guy who rescued Yvette Sweeny from kidnappers, only to put an end to her romantic dreams. These days, she's older, smarter, determined to face whatever life throws her way. Even the prospect of sharing a house and business with Cannon.

Cannon knew Yvette wanted him three years ago. But she was young—and some things are worth waiting for. Thrown together by her grandfather's legacy, he realizes how deep Yvette's scars really go, and how much danger lurks in their quiet town. As pent-up desire explodes between them, protecting her becomes the only fight that matters. And he'll break all the rules to do it…

I can remember the first book I read by Lori Foster. It is one that I have recently re-read. It is that good. And for those of you who have a curious nature, the book I am referring to is Simon Says, which is book two in her SBC Fighters series. Which....also happens to be loosely connected with her newest series, Ultimate.

Lori has a way of making her characters jump off the page and into my living room...at least, metaphorically speaking. But what I truly love about her writing is the abundance of sexual chemistry her characters have from the get go. She can take a few, innocent words and have me swooning. She has talent in spades and will always be an auto-buy for this reader.

That being said, No Limits was not a disappointment. Combustible sexual chemistry, a supreme cast of secondary characters, a dash of suspense, and cameo appearances from her Love Undercover series: all the key ingredients needed to make a hot read you don't want to end. Lori Foster delivers it and has whetted my appetite for more.

Cannon Colter is a young fighter on the brink of success. He has recently returned from Japan and learned of the death of a close friend. When he returns to Ohio, he finds himself face to face with the woman he hasn't been able to stop thinking about--Yvette Sweeny.

Yvette returns to Ohio to settle things after the death of her grandfather. Her childhood home holds horrific memories of a time she wished she could forget. And the presence of Cannon, her teenage crush, has her facing long-denied desires she thinks best left alone.

But the heady and smoldering sexual tension is something that will not be denied between them. And as the two spend more and more time together, things are bound to pretty damn hawt.

Because of what happened to Yvette years ago, she feels broken and afraid she will disappoint the man she has fallen for. But Cannon is determined to show Yvette she has no problems whatsoever when it comes to sex and his slow seduction is almost painful in a lip-biting, squirming-in-my-seat kind of way.

“Stay with me, honey.” And then, “You’ll like this.” With building anticipation Yvette watched him bend down until his dark head was between her thighs, his breath hot, his mouth hotter”.

"First time will be fast and hard. Second time might be better. I'm still up in the air on that one." He drew her close and playfully bit her lower lip. "The third time, though...for sure, that one will be all for you."

Of course, Foster throws in some suspense to keep you turning the page...an unstable ex-boyfriend who waits in the shadows for his chance to grab Yvette could prove to be dangerous and deadly. Or is it someone else, someone unsuspecting, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike back with malignant intent?

Since first publishing in January 1996, Lori Foster has become a Waldenbooks, Borders, USA Today, Publisher’s Weekly and New York Times bestselling author. Lori has published through a variety of houses, including Kensington, St. Martin’s, Berkley, Silhouette and Samhain. She is currently with Harlequin.

Book Blurb

A no-nonsense female cop reluctantly teams up with the one man who makes her lose control in a deliciously sensual new novel from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster...

To bring down a sleazy abduction ring, Lieutenant Margaret "Margo" Peterson has set herself up as bait. But recruiting Dashiel Riske as her unofficial partner is a whole other kind of danger. Dash is 6'4" of laid-back masculine charm, a man who loves life—and women—to the limit. Until Margo is threatened, and he reveals a dark side that may just match her own.

Beneath Margo's tough facade is a slow-burning sexiness that drives Dash crazy. The only way to finish this case is to work together side by side…skin to skin. And as their mission takes a lethal turn, he'll have to prove he's all the man she needs—in all the ways that matter.

Book Review

Lori Foster is my go-to-author when I know I want something a little spicy, a little on the edge of your seat, and great characters that leave me a little breathless.

Dash Of Peril is the story of Dashiel Riske--brother to police detective Logan Riske. (Run The Risk, Book One in the Love Undercover series). Throughout the series we have gotten a peek or two of Dash's character. We know he is in the construction business (insert sexy constructor image here with faded jeans and a low-hung tool belt). And Foster, the pro that she is, has given us a tantalizing glimpse of him...until we are begging for more.

Dash has agreed to help out Lieutenant Margo Peterson in discovering who is behind the abduction of several women and drugging them to use in pornographic videos. But the criminals remain one step ahead of the police department and Margo takes matters into her own hands to find the sick men responsible.

I loved Margo's character. She is a tough-as-nails police lieutenant who comes across as a ambitious, hard-working, and candid. She IS those things, but she is so much more than the visible exterior she presents to the men who work for her.

When a car chase leads to a car crash,  followed by a shoot out, Margo is injured. Dash, who had been following her to make sure she got home safe has now been thrust into the madness.

And it is Dash who is able to see that there is so much more to this woman. He lets her be the kick-ass lieutenant she is and supports her strengths. But he is also there for her more vulnerable moments and understands that her vulnerability does not make her weak.

To Dash, Margo is all woman. And he is determined to win her heart.

What I loved about Dash Of Peril: Lori Foster shows the reader that just because a woman sometimes fantasizes about submission, it doesn't make her weak. And Dash is the kind of man who knows what Margo desires as well as what she needs. He doesn't "lose" his man-card when he steps aside to let Margo do her job. Their relationship is in no way intended to be a representation of a D/s relationship. For me, it was about understanding your partner. Understanding their wants, needs, and giving the other a safe place to let your hair down, so to speak. Being naked in front of your new lover is a vulnerable feeling. Baring your soul can be dramatically worse.

Another pleasing aspect of the book was when  two characters from Foster's earlier novels made a brief appearance. I literally swooned. I think I may have even shouted out a "YES!"  and done a little dance.

Cannon Colter, a secondary character, has street smarts and the innate ability to recognize trouble. And Yvette from his neighborhood is just that with a capitol "T". It is apparent that Yvette has a thing for him, but Cannon has his sights set on fighting with the big dogs in the MMA.  Their side-story in DoP is like a preview to Foster's upcoming series, Ultimate. Cannon's story, No Limits, will be the first.

Dash of Peril is a gratifying conclusion in the Love Undercover series and gives us loyal fans something to look forward to in August with Foster's new spin-off series.

Book Review

Love Won't Wait ~ Lori Foster

Lori Foster is a master at creating sizzling romance with engaging characters. A perfect blend of sweet and spicy to steam up the pages and just the right amount of depth for a story featured in an anthology.

Brick was amazingly sexy, funny, and he knows how to make a girl's first time unbelievably HAWT.

Merrily is a sweet and funny virgin who plans to give up her "V" card to the very charming Brick. Although not an original plot line, this story had me chuckling aloud and swooning in all the right places. Foster is amazing at writing sizzling chemistry between her characters.

And the secondary character of Jesse should get his own story. Just sayin'.

Love Won't Wait is a great example of Lori Foster's writing style.

Beach House Beginnings ~ Christie Ridgeway

Meg Alexander has returned to Crescent Cove where she runs into Caleb McCall. Both are recovering from their own heartache.

Although Caleb is from Meg's past, she only had eyes for Peter as a young girl. Now, with Peter gone, can Caleb convince Meg to give love another chance?

I would have loved to had more of the past in this short story. It was difficult to get a true feel for Meg and Caleb's character. I am a sucker for the nerdy, skinny kid who's crushing on the girl who is out of his league. That story would have grabbed my attention more, I think.

All in all, Beach House Beginnings is a sweet/sad story about second chances at love with a little bit of magic tossed in for good measure.

Strong Enough To Love ~ Victoria Dahl

Eve Hill has spent the past two years putting her life back together after having her heart shattered by Brian Stewart. He had started out as her boss, her mentor, and her best friend. And she had fallen in love with him.

Brian was separated from his wife, Julia, for the third time. But when he leaves Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to return to his wife, he leaves behind a devastated Eve. The only goodbye Eve got was a letter he had sent telling him that he was falling in love with her, but he had to leave.

Now, two years later, Brian shows up at Eve's door. Divorced and wanting a second chance with Eve.

To say that Eve is angry is an understatement. Angry at him for thinking he can return after so long and think that she would just be waiting with open arms.

Despite his begging, Eve struggles to turns him away. But unresolved sexual feelings and unbelievable sexual chemistry has Eve telling Brian that she will give him one night. No commitments, no promises.

Strong Enough To Love deals with a lot of complicated feelings--should Brian get another chance after leaving the way he did? Was he right to stay with his wife and try to work on their problems when he obviously had feelings for Eve. Was it fair for him to ask Eve to give him another chance?

I was frustrated while reading this short story and felt a boat love of anger for Eve and what had been done to her. But in the end, this story (for me, at least) was about choices and the power they have in our lives. And while I wasn't Brian's biggest fan, Dahl did an great job in explaining both points of views. Brian hated the choice he made, but he stuck with it. Moved away and gave his twenty year marriage another try.  And Eve was rightfully hurt and angry and didn't let Brian back into her heart.

But after one mind boggling night of passion will Eve be be strong enough to love him again?

Going to his couch, he sat down and, pretending he wasn't coiled tight and on the verge of asking her stay, he put his glasses back on and picked up his book. As the seconds passed, he pretended to read and Avery held silent. He wouldn't look at her again.
"I'm freezing, Rowdy."
He heard the chattering of her teeth, and he clenched his muscles to fight the compelling need to comfort her. He glanced at her over the glasses but said nothing.
"My jeans are completely soaked."
He didn't mean to, but he said, "Take them off." This his heart started jumping, and he breathed deeper, waiting to see what she'd do.
It felt like a lifetime that they stared at each other before Avery turned, closed the door and locked it.

Annnd...I need a change of panties. Rowdy is red-HAWT in this book and it was easily my favorite of this series. Lori Foster knows how to write sexy!

Book Review

The thing I love and adore about Lori Foster and her books is the great characters she creates. They are likable, easy to relate to, and very easy to fall for.  Her books go down like smooth, aged whiskey and gives you the same exact feeling---all tingly and warm.

At. Last.

We finally get Rowdy Yates. Well...at least, we finally get his story.

I fell hard for Rowdy in book one of Lori Foster's Love Undercover series. He was mysterious, a bit of a bad boy, and he got under my skin.

And with each book, Lori tempted me with Rowdy's prowess. This bad boy really is a softie at heart. He's loyal, protective as hell, and downright sinful. But he isn't the type of male who hangs around afterwards. Nope--he beats feet out the door faster than a gal can say 'I need some cuddle time'.

But Avery Mullins, the sexy bartender at Getting Rowdy, is giving the male a serious case of blue balls. Their sexual attraction is combustible, but Avery doesn't want to be another notch in his "belt", and keeps Rowdy at arms length--a place that Rowdy isn't comfortable being at.

Not used to being told no, Rowdy takes it all in stride, saying that if Avery won't be his "first", another woman will happily take her place.

But their close association makes the heat between these two sizzle off the pages.

And someone has to give in...right?

And as usual, Lori leaves me wanting another book to quickly follow. She introduces a very promising male named Cannon, who lends a hand when all hell breaks lose. And he has all the signs of being just as sexy as Rowdy: He's sexy, protective, and very mysterious.

Please, please, please let there be a future story for Cannon, Mrs. Foster.

Getting Rowdy is easily my favorite book in the Love Undercover series and Rowdy has become one of my favorite heroes.  Foster delivers(as usual)  a sexy read with a twisty plot and great characters that you can truly care about.

ARC BOOK REVIEW ~ BARE IT ALL BY LORI FOSTER

Title:  Bare It All (Love Undercover, Book Two)
Author:  Lori Foster
Expected Release Date:  April 30, 2013

A cop's craving to know more about the woman next door could prove fatal in the steamy new novel from New York Times bestselling author Lori Foster"

As the person responsible for taking down a brutal human trafficker, Alice Appleton fears retaliation at every turn. No one knows about her past, which is exactly how she prefers it...until the sexy cop next door comes knocking.

Detective Reese Bareden thinks he knows what makes women tick, but his ever-elusive neighbor keeps him guessing like no other. Is his goal to unmask Alice's secrets? Or protect her from a dangerous new threat? One thing is certain: their chemistry is a time bomb waiting to explode. And with no one to trust but each other, Reese and Alice are soon drawn into a deadly maze of corruption, intrigue and desire-and into the line of fire....

Book Review

Lori Foster is one of those authors that is an auto-buy for me. I know when I pick up her book, I'm getting a great read. Her characters always sizzle on the pages. Foster is a pro at amping up the sexual chemistry and taking two characters to the extreme. Her plot pacing is spot on and her heroes are totally addictive.

Bare It All provides everything that I come to expect with Lori's books. And although you do not have to read her series in order to understand the story line in Bare It All, I highly suggest you do-- just for sheer joy of such a great series. Start with The Men Who Walk The Edge Of Honor series...

Reese Bareden is a cop whose apartment has been the center of a crime scene. And his neighbor, Alice Appleton, has provided a couch for him to sleep on while his place is off limits during the investigation.

Reese has had an attraction for his quiet neighbor for a while, and the cop in him wants to know more about this very perceptive woman. He knows that she is hiding something, and he is determined to find out. When he does some snooping in her apartment and discovers not one, but several guns, a taser, and a baton under her bed, Reese's protective instincts go on high alert.

Alice cannot deny her attraction to her very sexy neighbor, but her past and the secret she is keeping may hinder any chance of a relationship with Reese Bareden. He is honorable, loyal to the core, and his career as a cop makes Alice question if he could handle the truths in her past.

I loved Reese as the hero--he's everything that makes a man sexy and adorable. He loves his dog, Cash, and states "Love me, love my dog." They are a package deal. Alice, who sometimes takes care of Cash when Reese is gone for long hours, adores the mutt and spoils him with attention.

Reese is protective, although it was a little overbearing at times. But I get why Reese felt the way he did. He wanted Alice to trust him, depend on him, and not have to look somewhere else **ahem, Rowdy** for that. He is truly an alpha male and could totally see him metaphorically pounding his chest a few times in the book.

But then Reese says things that literally put my toes in perma-curl mode. He has such a way with words...
Serious, heated, he searched her face, her eyes, finally her mouth. "I'll fill you up, Alice. And I swear you'll enjoy it."
SWOON.

Alice is the kind of quiet woman whose mind is always alert--watching those around her, aware of her surroundings, and prepared for flight at any moment. She has reason to be wary. She was kidnapped and held hostage by a madman for over a year. She stays aloof, works from her apartment, and has distanced herself from her family. But with Reese around, her walls start to crumble and she falls for this man determined to be her knight and shining armor.

As a lover of series romance, we get to see more of Rowdy, who first appeared in Worth the Risk. He sees something in Alice that raises his suspicions that she is hiding something. Every fundamental instinct in Rowdy has him reaching out to protect her, despite his usual reserved behavior in the past.

And then there is a cameo appearance of a character from the Men Who Walk The Edge Of Honor series...he has come to Alice's rescue before and shows up to offer his expert skills once again. I literally squeed aloud when he walked into the room. You'll have to read to see who this smexy hero was...teehee...

Reese and Alice complimented each other well. They were cute to watch as they tried to "feel each other out" and sort through their feelings.

One of my favorite things about Alice was that she didn't hide her lust for her man. She ogled him like the sexy eye candy he was.

Sighing in resignation at her distraction, Reese said again, "Up here, Alice."
Mute, she performed the near-impossible feat of lifting her attention to his face.

Another favorite part of the book for me, was watching both Logan and Reese realize their Lieutenant was not just their boss, but a woman...
Logan pulled back. "You saw her..." And then in a choked whisper, "Breasts?
"Couldn't help it, Rowdy supplied. "She showed up in this boner-inspiring outfit, and that was enough to drop Reese's eyeballs right there. But then after one of the men grabbed for her, she lost her blouse."

Then there was the appearance of Logan's brother, Dash, who provided some comedy as well. **And Lori, I sure do hope to see what happens between him and Lt. Peterson**

"Spoken like a rejected man." Dash lifted his Coke in a salute. "If you can't get it, deny wanting it."

Bare It All was a delicious read and a great addition to her newest series. She is definitely on a roll with these addictive characters.

This week I picked a story from an anthology: Bad Boys in Black Tie...

Title: Good With His Hands
Author: Lori Foster

"You naked under that shirt, Cass?"
She backed up. The big-bad-wolf look on his face had her giggling nervously. "Maybe."
"I think you are." He released her underwear to stalk her. "Much as I'd like to see your sweet ass in those little bits of nothing, I think I'd just as soon see it bare."
She clutched the material of her nightshirt tight around her thighs. "Is that right?"
"Come here, Cass."
"No," She shook her head and giggled some more.
"You want me to chase you?" His gaze brightened. "I'm up for a few games if you are."
"No! I didn't mean--"
"Better run," he suggested. "Now."

This was a very sexy, short read and you can NEVER go wrong with Lori Foster. I also enjoyed Erin McCarthy's Miss Extreme Congeniality...

But will surrendering to passion bring her the safety she so desires—or will her feelings for Logan draw them both into a killer's crosshairs?

Book Review

I have been in love with Lori's stories since picking up Simon Says (Fighter Series, Book Two) and she is an auto-buy for me. She writes how I wish I could-with passion, emotion, flavor, pizazz, and humor. LOVE LOVE LOVE HER...

So when I saw that she was starting another series, I cried for joy. After finishing her latest series, Men Who Walk The Edge of Honor, I have been pacing restlessly for more of her books. Honestly, I haven't come across a Foster novel that I really didn't like.

Run The Risk holds true to all I have said about Foster in the above paragraphs. She writes with such style, such addictive characters, and creates a romantic hero that is not only sexy with a capitol S, but one who is loyal, fierce, and kick-ass. Her hero Logan is all of that and a bag of chips-Economy size--and yet he has a vulnerability and isn't perfect. He makes mistakes. And the biggest is when he doesn't come clean to Pepper, his next-door neighbor.

Of course, Pepper isn't squeaky clean either; she's hiding her own secrets. And despite her "plain jane" appearance, Logan can't help but be intrigued with this woman. She hides a passionate side that he wants badly to lay bare, preferably in his bed.

What follows is an extreme sexual attraction of two people who are desperate to keep their secrets just that. But as secrets are wont to do, they unravel quickly and turn out deadly.

A great romantic suspensful read with passion mixed expertly in between that will leave you wanting more of this wonderful authors books.

The next in the series, Bare It All, is expected to be released in April of 2013.

SEXY SNIPPET TUESDAYS

Today's snippet comes from an Anthology with authors--Lori Foster, Erin McCarthy, and Amy Garvey. And the sexy snippet is from Lori's story: Luscious.

In a rough whisper, he warned. " If you don't kiss me back, I'm stopping."
And then his mouth pressed to hers, warm and firm, and her head spun and she had no choice but to clutch at his broad, hard shoulders. His bare skin was sleek and taut, and so hot.
And holy cow, she'd had no idea a kiss could be so awesome.
If anyone asked her now, she'd happily say that this was her favorite part. Kissing. Tongues and lips, and humid breath...
Enthused by her response, Lucious stroked his right hand over her shoulder, spread his fingers wide on her collarbone, and slid down onto her breast with a bold, possessive, but gentle hold.
His thumb circled her nipple once, twice, and her insides did a thrilling flip. Oh, yeah. That was her favorite part by far. Her fingers dug into his back while she went on tiptoe, trying to get closer to him.
"Damn," Lucious muttered, "that's definitely a yes," and he turned his head for a better fit, taking the kiss from seducing to devouring.

This book is a great, quick, and hot read. I so love anything that Lori Foster pens. She is the queen for sexual chemistry and nails it (hah) every time.

Now it's your turn to show me your sexy!

**NOTE--A Perfect Storm is a continuation of the Men of Honor Series. I highly suggest reading them in order. You won't regret it.

Book Review

Sigh…I can remember the very first Lori Foster book I read: Simon Says. That book hooked me to all things Lori Foster. I loved her writing style, her passionate characters, her descriptive words; the way she created such an amazing story had me spellbound.

Nothing has changed. Lori Foster still has it. She has created a favorite series that screams ALPHA male and her books are addictive.

These men are not just hot bodies who carry guns, kick ass when necessary, and have mad skills in the bedroom (or elsewhere…). But they have a sense of humor, loyalty, and mad skills in the bedroom (AND elsewhere, lol).

They fight to protect their women-no matter what. And their women are heroines worthy of their men.

Arizona has survived kidnapping, abuse above our imaginations, and has such an emotional strength that is phenomenal. She is a born survivor intent on making those responsible for their terrible sins pay dearly.

Spencer Lark is determined to show Arizona how not to fear a man’s touch. HIS TOUCH. But finds himself not wanting to let her go.

From page one, with Spencer lying in bed and Arizona sitting in the dark watching him…you can feel their connection. Lori has uber skills at providing the reader with a palpable sexual spark and weaves humor in the most surprising ways.

As he gave a sleepy growling groan, that hand disappeared under the sheets.

Arizona’s lips parted, and her heartbeat tripped up.
She cleared her throat. “Spence?”

Freezing, without moving any other body part, he opened his eyes and met her gaze. She frowned at him. He didn’t look super-startled, and he said nothing. He just stared at her.

With his hand still under there.

“Yeah…” Semi-satisfied with his frozen reaction, she nodded at his lap. “You weren’t going for a little tug, were you? Because as your spectator, I’d just as soon not see it.” I am a life-long fan of the fabulous Lori Foster.
