INDI PUBLISHED AUTHORS ~ WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE?

There has been such a huge debate about Indi authors versus self-published authors...which route should an author take when trying to get his/her work out there...


But this post is about those who travel the less traditional route. It takes a lot of courage to put your pen to paper and put it out there for someone else to read. 

And I have read some really terrific books out there over the past year that I have to pass on to you...These books would have never seen the light of day if it hadn't been for that author's tenacity. Thank you. And yes, you have seen some of these books out on shelves, picked up by well known publishing houses--but they originally started as an independently published work. 


So, who have been your favorite independently-published authors? Fave indi books?

This week I'm sharing a funny for my sexy snippet. I loved reading the newest release by author, R.L. Mathewson and the following snippet is the reason why I love her so much:

She could practically feel his smug smile when he realized that she could feel him. The bastard. Deciding that she wasn't going to be intimidated, she opened her mouth to egg him on, which of course she knew was stupid, but it really couldn't be helped."Tristan, do you mind?""Mind what?""Do you mind shifting? You have a small tube of chap stick or something in your pocket that's poking me." Maybe she shouldn't have emphasized small. Guys were kind of sensitive about that sort of thing, right? 

I really enjoyed this book--funny, sexy, and it is gonna be a series! I cannot wait to read more of these sexy Irish brothers as they meet their soul mate and try to break the curse.

Why I picked this one ~ I love this series, and this cover just sings to me. I love the angle of the camera...it's different. The matching black tee with the black bra...their hands are touching and the couple seem to be connected more than just with their bodies. It is simple. It is hot. I want.

This weeks Sexy Snippet:

"Fine," Haley said with a sigh. "What if I promise to make a big bowl of frosting tomorrow and let you lick it off me?"

She had to bite back a smile as Jason shifted anxiously while he licked his lips and ran his eyes hungrily down her body. "Butter cream?" he croaked out.

"Mmmmhmmm," she said, walking over to him. She cupped the back of his head and gently tugged him down for a quick kiss. "And if you're good I might lick some off you," she said, loving the idea.
"Get your own bowl of frosting. I don't share," he simply said, giving her one last kiss before walking out the door, whistling happily, no doubt thinking about the large bowl of frosting he was going to devour tomorrow.


This book was my fave by self-published author, R.L. Mathewson. Jason was such an adorable, lovable, sexy character with a weakness for butter cream frosting and his little grasshopper, Haley.

There are just so many delish reads out there that I would recommend, and you'd probably have to duct tape my mouth shut to stop.
