This week's question:

Which author introduced you to urban fantasy or paranormal romance?

I am not sure of the exact author or the first paranormal I ever read --as my Goodreads doesn't go back that far. However, I do know what started my paranormal craze:  The Twilight Saga. After reading a very PG Edward, I needed a more adult version. So I started searching for everything I could about vampires and romance. I found JR Wards' BDB and was HOOKED. Now I read from many different genres, but I have a weakness for the dark, humorous world of PNR and UF.

  1. I read and enjoyed Twilight after seeing the film but the second book wasn't for me.

    1. NEW MOON was my least fave of the series. I had to peek to see if Edward was actually going to come back----if he didn't I would have stopped reading.

  2. I love the Twilight series, but I think The Host, from the same author was better : not a PNR actually but well developed! I totally agree with you J.R Ward know how to hook the readers!

    1. I had to re-read The Host at a later date, and boy--am I glad that I did. I LURVED it....can't wait to see if they do the book justice with the movie. Wasn't too impressed with the Twilight movies.

  3. I completely agree. Dark & dangerous & paranormal. Yes, please! I want more :-)
I like UF romance, but there are also lots of UF around that don't have any romance in it. I have yet to find one that I like.

I am just getting into UF and love it, but I love to have the romance part of it. If you find a good one, let me know :)

  4. Great answer! Twilight was great while it lasted, but it has nothing on the darker and dangerous adult PNR and UF!!

    1. The funny thing was I had NO CLUE that Twilight was a YA when I was reading it...by then it was too late, I had to finish the saga.
I tend to read things a bit more dark, smexier, and will always prefer that :)
