BOOK REVIEW ~ HOT HEAD BY DAMON SUEDE

Where there's smoke there's fire. . .

Since 9/11, Brooklyn firefighter Griff Muir has wrestled with impossible feelings for his best friend and partner at Ladder 181: Dante Anastagio. Unfortunately Dante is strictly a ladies' man and the FDNY isn’t exactly gay-friendly. For 10 years, Griff has hidden his heart in a half-life of public heroics and private anguish.

Griff’s caution and Dante’s cockiness make them an unbeatable team. To protect his buddy, there’s nothing Griff wouldn’t do… until Dante is nearly bankrupt and proposes the worst possible solution: HotHead.com, a gay-porn website where uniformed hunks get down-n-dirty… Now Dante wants them to appear there— together.

Griff may have to guard his heart and live out his darkest fantasies on camera. Can he rescue the man he loves without wrecking their careers, their families, or their friendship?

Jesus, Mary, and Joseph Fiennes! What a super freakin, fantastically, orgasmic read with a serious plot that made me cry like a pansy ass!

I am now in LURVE with Damon Suede and his Head Series.

Okay, let's back up the train a bit first--because when I first started this book, I wasn't sure if I was gonna like it as much as **ahem** certain peeps did (those that shall remain nameless, Francesca, lol). It started out a little chaotic at the beginning and the flow wasn't working for me.

But I loved how Suede took these two polar opposites and created a fan-tab-u-lous romance.

Griff, aka Griffin Muir, is one studly hero that made me go weak in the knees. First off-he wears a kilt. 'Nough said,   right?
But add these mouth watering stats: 240 lbs, pale, milky white complexion, red hair and built like a tank. Add some sexy fire men turn out gear (Oh, how I so wish I could post some great eye candy here...) with rockin' suspenders and a lip smacking delish washboard abs and I am so there.

Next, imagine Dante Anastagio; Italian, ripped, dark hair and eyes, and mocha-dipped skin. **wipes drool off keyboard**

But it's more than just the sex AND the sexy men that make me feel this story.

Griff and Dante have been best buds for years--doing almost everything together. They are brothers. In fact, Dante's family has 'adopted' Griffin into their fold and have been there when his very absent fire marshall father has not.

But something has changed for Griff. He starts to see Dante in a very different light and confusion sets in and sucker punches him in the balls. Is he gay? Griff questions everything in the past and how his feelings could upset a friendship that he can't live without.

Dante feels like the fuck-up in the friendship. He struggles to make something with his life and now faces losing his house. He can barely make ends meet and he goes to his best friend for help. However, Dante doesn't take the money that Griff freely offers and decides to do something that changes their relationship forever.

What follows next can only be described as "Smoke and Fire". These two men pass boundaries that literally curled my toes and struggle to come to terms with the reality of the world we live in.  People can be cold, bigoted, bastards whose ignorance leads to unwarranted violence and hate.

Love is love -- And this story was beautifully written while still smoking up the pages and left me wanting more.
