Today you can pre-order book three of the Supernova Saga ~ Nexus by author, C.L. Parker.
I must give a huge sloppy kiss to my gal pal, C.L. Parker -- she is the peanut butter to my jelly and my BFF. I lurve her something fierce. And I am so damn proud of her right now, I can barely stand it.
I wish I could review Nexus for you right friggin now, but I am part of her upcoming book/blog tour, so that will have to wait...but I couldn't resist giving a shout-out regarding her upcoming newest release.
That being said, I will say this in all honesty. My reviews on my blog are always heart felt and truly represent my feelings about the book that I have read. When C.L. first asked me to read Supernova ( Book One, Supernova Saga) for a review, I wanted to throw up...In fact, I did a little...in my mouth.
Who wants to review your BFF?
Long story short--I put off on reading Supernova for as long as I possibly could without ruining our great friendship.
See, the thing is this. C.L. wanted my honesty. She knows that sometimes your friends can blow smoke up your ass and say pretty things about your writing...and think in the back of their minds, "Oh, shit, that was a load of garbage."
And she expected me to be up front with my impression of the work--I had a no holds barred pass and I finally put my big girl panties on and read it. Click here for the review.
You will note that I held nothing back. I told her what her weaknesses were and berated her for not taking other things further...I knows what my girl can do.
So...again I am reading her latest book to be released September 27. Am I nervous as I was the first time? Ahh...hell yeah. And I put it off until I could no longer do it anymore.
OMG---I know I said no review, but HOLY HELL. I Sobbed my friggin ass off, called my BFF and berated her for making me cry. This book was by far her best work in the series. I have watched her grow with each book and feel like I've taken the ride with her her in the passenger seat. You Go Girl! When a book pulls that kind of emotions out of me, I am in my happy place and have to pass on the word ~
Supernova Saga, Book Three |
With the weight of the world on her shoulders, Tori must find a way to keep it from falling before the gravity of her existence sends her crashing to her knees and mankind along with her. The real war is inside her psyche; good versus evil in a battle between Light and Dark. But she is not alone in her quest.
The Guardian of the Guardian, Dante is destined to fight by her side. With an arsenal of wicked charm, seduction, and the ability to ignite a raging inferno, his allure is powerful. Will it be enough to convince Tori to choose him?
Coming between them is a man whose existence is confined to her dreams. The only friend Tori has ever known, a man she has grown to love over her short eighteen years. She doesn’t know his name, or why he’s there, but she can’t deny the feelings she has for him. There’s only one problem; when he leaves, her dreams become nightmares plagued by demonic beings hellbent on viciously murdering her loved ones. Over and over again.
Two men, both pledging their undying love and unyielding loyalty, but one is not at all what he seems.
Torn between her lifelong friend and the man destined to stand by her side, the Guardian of Mankind must choose her path. The fate of the world depends on her getting it right. But how can she choose when she doesn’t really know who she is to begin with?

I must admit, I was a blubbering idiot too! Everyone waiting for this fantastic read will not be disappointed. This book wraps up the trilogy with a mind boggling revelation!
ReplyDeleteParker has written another "stay up late page turner" that will blow you away! And, if you have not read her first two books, what are you waiting for? This rising new author is not to be missed, believe me! I put her writing right on an even keel with J. R. Ward. Yes, she is that good.

DeleteThank you so much for coming over here today and posting a comment--I love to get them :)
My throat hurt, I was crying so hard...and when I talked to C.L. on the phone, I had to ask her to stop talking about it, cuz I was feeling another crying jag comin' on.
C.L. has a definite talent that will just get better as time goes on. Get in on it, from the ground up! :)
Well said, CS. This works both ways, ppl. CS's review is the one I'm most nervous about because she KNOWS she can tell me the absolute truth - I can take the criticism as long as it's constructive, and that's what she does for me. My goal has always been to grow in my writing, and I just can't do that if I'm not getting honest feedback. I value her opinion because I am constantly hearing about each and every book she's reading (she feeds my book addiction with fabulous recommendations), so I'm very aware of just how many that is. If I can get a review from someone who absolutely knows good books . . . then yeah, I definitely want that.
ReplyDeleteA little side note: It frustrates me that I can't tell her anything about these books as I'm writing them because she wants the element of surprise. Grrrr ... Truth be known, I wouldn't have it any other way ; she really gets to see them from a reader's point of view, feel the emotions, gasp at the mindfucks - and THAT is why I do this!!
C.L. **blows kisses**
DeleteI know it frustrates you boo--but it was sooooooooo worth it with Nexus that I did not know what was going to happen. You know you can always bounce ideas around with me (especially about your newest series you are brewing up), just don't give me a lot of deets :)
And yes, you had me gasping over the mind fuckery of Nexus--you dirty hoor, you made me cry.
Yes, C.S., mind fuckery,is an excellent way to put it! You're rather lucky because you have that delicious anticipation of waiting to read C.L.'s books. Me, not so much, but I'm not complaining one bit! And, you are so right, her writing is getting better with each and every book!
DeleteShama329--I was a pre-reader for most of Supernova, and I felt that I missed something when I read for review. I told her, "Never again!"...LOL. I like the suspense. It kills me, but it's so worth it. :)
DeleteI just wanted to say.... I love this series and Nexus was my favorite. CL Parker is just amazing and I am so looking forward to what she does next! Yes I cried like a baby too! I have never been so emotional over a book where I would still cry the next day just thinking about it! (Yes I was laying in the tanning bed boo hoo-ing!!!) BTW...I will never be able to look at a Ducati the same way again! *sigh*
ReplyDeleteKaren--Nexus is my fave out of the series, too :)
