This week's question:
What books have recently made you cry?
Wow--I must be a cold hearted bitch--can't remember the last book, so I had to look at my read books over at Goodreads. I think it was Born to Darkness by Suzanne Brockmann. But it wasn't a sob fest, just a touching moment that had me all emo for a few minutes. Looking further back, I discovered Cold Kiss by Amy Garvey--a young adult book that I did cry out loud while reading the ending. And then after that, Kresley Cole's Dreams of a Dark Warrior was a tear jerker as well. (both read in Dec 2011)
What about you ?
I haven't read any of those. But they are on my TBR list. Lol @ cold hearted bitch... I thought I was like that too. It took me a min to figure out which books made me cry so I went through the ones I read earlier this year. And they weren't sob fests but a tear here and there.

yes!...K. Cole's Dreams of a Dark Warrior is a good one!...great choice C.S.
ReplyDeleteSharonda ~ Thanks---I thought that Dreams was a great pre-read for Lothair's book. It wowed me and made me realize just how much I love and adore this series.
Deletehmm I haven't read the other two, but I love Cole's IAD series, but I wasn't a big fan of Regin's book. Aidan was way too much of an ass to Regin that I just couldn't get over it. The one I cried had to be Malcolm's book. That one I loved lol

Ning! I agree that it was hard at times to read how hateful Aidan was--but I thought that Cole did an okay job swinging me toward forgiveness. Which one was Malcom's book? Can't remember...
DeleteLothaire still is tops for me.
Dreams of a Dark Warrior will bring a tear to the eye, so will Demons from the Dark. Love KC and the IAD series!

OMG I about choked...old hearted bitch...nice :) I had to go over to goodreads too and go back a little bit to figure mine out. LOVE the IAD series. Wasn't a huge fan of that one but the series is one of my favorites. Haven't heard of Cold Kiss. Will have to look that one up.
ReplyDeleteI think my hubby thinks that statement is sometimes true--don't come between me and my book, lol.
DeleteCold Kiss is a young adult book about a girl with witchcraft in her and the women in her family. She brings back her boyfriend from the dead after he dies unexpectedly in a car crash...

Ha! I don't cry that much either, but I read Beloved Vampire by Joey W. Hill and I burst out in tears all the way through the book. It was a really awesome book though.
ReplyDeleteNae,
DeleteI am one of the rare breed that has not read Joey Hill...yet. She needs to be moved up in my TBR pile.

Oh boy I have not read Dreams of a Dark Warrior yet. Do I need the tissues?
ReplyDeleteDreams was just hard to read as Aiden really loathed anyone in the Lore--he treated Regan really bad. But I don't think I cried...although I thought it was one of her better books.
