Driven is a post apocalyptic story where our heroine, Raina Bowen drives a rig across the icy Northern Waste, to win the 50 million jackpot in order for a better life for herself and her sister. At the same time, she must stay under the radar from the cruel clutches of one Ducan Blane--the ruler of the New Government order. 

Wizard, our hero in the tale is a mercenary, hell bent on revenge against that same man. Onlyhe plans on  using Raina as the bait to attract his attention. 

When Raina and Wizard come together at a truck stop, trouble escalates as their worlds collide. What follows is an action-packed tale with exploding trucks, hidden agendas, ice pirate baddies, and sci-fi weaponry. 

Fans of Mad Max will take to this book like a fish to water. The pacing keeps you turning the page and is very engaging in some aspects, although Raina's inner monologue drove me crazy at times. I felt it became a bit of a distraction sometimes--taking you out of the scene--and could have been limited.  

My favorite part of the story was Wizard's inner monologue. Ironic, I know. But without giving too much away--Wizard isn't your typical hero. He comes across as robotic, very logical, and unfeeling. And to see him struggle with his desires toward Raina was highly entertaining. 

I loved the uniqueness of this story and would suggest it to those who are looking for something a bit darker and a lot different.
