Book Review

A Million Guilty Pleasures is book two of the Million Dollar Duet. Delaine Talbot is a young woman who gives up her virginity to the highest bidder in a very hush-hush auction. An auction where the rich can apparently buy anything. Her reasons for such an act are to save the life of her mother, who needs an expensive surgery and a new heart. 

Noah Crawford is the CEO of Scarlet Lotus, a multi-million dollar business whose heart was broken by his fiancee and best friend. In order to prevent future heartache, he decides to buy a woman who will be totally faithful to him. To be at his beck and call for anything and everything. 

In book one, A Million Dirty Secrets, Noah and Delaine are brought together by very odd and secret circumstances. Both have their reasons for doing what they do. But what they didn't expect was to fall in love.

Now we come to book two, A Million Guilty Pleasures. 

Noah has torn up the contract and has told Delaine she no longer has to stay with him. And that her family needs her more than he does. 

Delaine is devastated. She loves Noah. And because she knows he loves her in return, she is determined to get him back. But, right now her mother needs her. She has taken a turn for the worse. And her fragile heart is giving up the fight. 

Can these two people who were brought together under unusual circumstances remain together? And what will happen when their secret is discovered by the best friend who betrayed Noah Crawford-- and only wants to see his downfall?   

David Stone is a slimy, sleazy, bastard of a bad guy that you love to hate. And to finally get his POV to see just how sleazy he really is was awesome. I couldn't wait for him to receive his just rewards for his black heartedness. (Spell check says this isn't a word, but it fits David's character to a tee).

**Spoilers** Read ahead at your own risk. 

Reasons why I love me some Guilty Pleasures:

• I love the way Parker weaves the romantic fru-fru and the steamy erotic. The proposal was uber romantic and funny at the same time. Noah climbs a tree, desperate to see Lanie after being separated from her for two weeks. The rain, the sex, the romance is perfect.
• I love the mother-daughter relationship between Delaine and her mother. It makes me miss my own mother and the conversations we used to have. Parker nailed it with their close bond. 
• Noah Crawford is a GOD. He is a man who doesn't apologize for his behavior. He likes it dirty and he likes it often. He is possessive, loyal, and funny. He oozes sex and sin and women don't stand a chance if they are are within a five mile radius. 
• Delaine as a heroine is strong, fierce, and dedicated. Her family means the world to her. And her sexual awakening is poignant. There are no "fictional myths" here, folks. Sex for the first time hurts. Not to mention the other AHEM acts that Noah and Delaine participate in can sometimes be very unpleasant. But the fact that Parker emphasizes the emotions behind it make it all the more real and therefore, has a stronger impact. Well done.

Parker has written a very sexy, very funny, very emotional read filled with numerous erotic experiences that will leave you breathless. If you like your romance with all of the above, A Million Guilty Pleasures is sure to please.

A Million Dirty Secrets is a rare gem--highly erotic, humorous, and heart breaking all in one book. 
Parker tells the story of Delaine Talbot, a young woman whose mother is dying, and the length she goes to to make sure her mother has a heart operation that she desperately needs to live. 

She sells herself to the highest bidder at a very private, very elite, sex slave auction. 

Noah Crawford, heir and co-owner to the Scarlet Lotus foundation, has been disillusioned and hurt by love. The one woman he planned to marry cheated on him with his best friend. His bitterness leads him down a path he never thought he would roam. After hearing about a sex slave auction, Crawford thinks this is the answer to the painful hurt caused by his ex-girlfriend. He will purchase someone who will be  his beck-and-call-girl (Pretty Woman reference noted, lol) and who will not run into the arms of another man. Ever.

But when Delaine is bought by Noah, both come to realize that their air-tight plans were nothing but an impractical solution...especially when it comes to matters of the heart. 

If you are looking for something sweet with a side of occasional hot and steamy--look elsewhere. Parker delivers steamy sexy times in droves. But this is about a sex slave, no? Did I mention that Delaine is a virgin? So, yeah...expect sex.

And lots of it. 

But beneath the multiple layers of eroticism, Parker builds a story with surprising results. Just as Delaine sees that there is more to Noah than just a huge...er...bank account, the reader gets a personal peek with a back and forth point of view: Delaine and Noah. And things aren't always as they seem. 

Both Delaine and Noah have met their match and as they work through a highly unique situation, come to realize the mistakes they made along the way. Love and loyalty cannot be bought. Money doesn't always solve everything. 

Sex and making love are two totally different things when the heart or hearts become involved.

And if you look a little closer, the one that was meant to be with you, has been right there all along. 

But can two people from two entirely different backgrounds come together and stay together, when they both have been keeping their own dirty little secret? 

Well...you're gonna have to wait until the next book to find out, just like me.
