LUSTING FOR COVERS #70 ~ INVINCIBLE BY ALANA ALBERTSON

Lusting for Covers is a weekly meme, held on Sunday that allows bloggers to share their current cover obsession with fellow book lovers.

Here is my candidate for this week:

"I'll be honest with you—I'm no hero. Sure—the media tries to brand every Navy SEAL as some kind of Batman dressed in cammies. There’s even a line in one of our cadences—"superman is the man of steel, he ain’t no match for Navy SEAL." You've seen the movies—we're indestructible, invincible, invulnerable. But that night, the one you read about in the papers—all I really wanted to do was get laid.

One harmless fuck with a CuraƧao whore—no strings attached. I picked her out of a lineup—wild, dark hair, long legs and a crooked smile. After she sucked me off, I relaxed back onto the creaky, cum-stained cot, thankful for the blissful moments she gave me when I actually forgot for a second the faces of my buddies who died because I made the wrong call, the tears of the children I couldn't save, and the eyes of the enemies I slaughtered during their last seconds of life.

But before I left, her green eyes peered into my soul. She whispered in a distinct So Cal accent, "My name is Annie Baylis. I'm an American citizen. I was kidnapped from a cruise ship five years ago. You're my last hope. Please save me."

One desperate plea. This wasn’t a Hollywood blockbuster or a New York Times best-selling thriller. I knew that this time there was no room for excuses, no margin for errors. I had one chance to put the cape on and be her hero.

Why I chose this cover:

Ya'll know me by now, right? Black and white photo with a sexy Navy SEAL as the hero?

After reading the blurb, I'm not expecting a light and fluffy read, but sometimes, those are the best kind of books.

Invincible sounds hard, gritty, and dark. I'm there.

Now it's your turn to show me what cover you are lusting over---leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you.

LUSTING FOR COVERS #69 ~ ENJOY YOUR STAY BY CARMEN JENNER

Lusting for Covers is a weekly meme, held on Sunday, (oops, I missed it this week, lol) that allows bloggers to share their current cover obsession with fellow book lovers.

*Book two in the Sugartown Series!*

The last thing Holly Harris expected was to wind up nineteen, knocked-up, and all alone. When Coop left to pursue his dreams of becoming a rock god, he left a tiny piece of him behind.

Holly wishes he hadn’t.

Jackson wishes he hadn’t.

Jackson Rowe tried filling the void his family left by drinking, screwing around, and leaving a string of heartbroken women in his wake. Moving back to Sugartown should have been easy, but he hadn’t counted on the fact his sometimes attraction to Holly would still be alive and kicking—and he sure as hell hadn’t counted on her being pregnant with another man’s baby.

They drive one another crazy, and yet they can’t stay away.

When old flames resurface, and even older wounds are torn open, can two people so similar make it work? Or will their stubbornness only drive them further apart?

*Content Warning. Intended for a mature 18+ audience. Contains angst, a crap-tonne of profanity, short-tempered Australian wildlife, and some very pregnant sex.

Why I chose this cover:

HOLY. HOTNESS. What a kiss! It grabbed my ovaries at first sight and I knew I had to share. I admit to not having read the first book, but I think I'll be adding this to my TBR ~

Tell me what cover you're lusting over this week. I'd love to hear from you!

Here is my candidate for this week:

Half human, half demon Liora Greyson just wants to survive her final year of high school unscathed, her dark secret intact. But the walls she's carefully constructed to keep people out crack wide open once she meets the sexy and mysterious Kieron Ambrose, and he lights her cold world on fire.

But it turns out Kieron has a few dark secrets of his own. Secrets that will either save or destroy her.

Why I chose this cover:

It is uniquely different. Love the dark wings set against the white-almost sheer-skirt. Then, there is the winter backdrop, the bare trees, the bloodied font of the title. All of it make a very intriguing picture and make me want to pick up the book.

And -- SURPRISE -- it's not a half-nekked man, lol.

What cover are you lusting over this week? Leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you.

LUSTING FOR COVERS #67 FIGHTING TEMPTATION BY K.C. LYNN

Here is my candidate for this week:

Jaxson is arrogant, angry and aggressive. Yet he’s also beautiful, strong and honorable. I unconditionally and irrevocably love every damaged part of him. And for the boy, who didn’t believe in love, he would always and forever have mine.
-Julia Sinclair

Julia was different from anyone I’d ever met. I never thought someone so good and genuine existed until her. The more I saw of her the more I became addicted to her. Every time I was around her she would destroy some of the darkness that lurked inside of me. She made the bad shit in my life seem not so terrible. Then, before I knew it, I had fallen for a girl from another world. -Jaxson Reid

* * *

Julia Sinclair is your typical innocent good girl with a heart of gold. At sixteen she moved to Sunset Bay, South Carolina, to live with her Grams after losing her mother to cancer. This is where she met some of the best friends she will ever have and one in particular who will forever hold her heart.

Jaxson Reid is your typical tattooed bad boy. His past and soul is as dark as the tattoos he bares. He flies through life and girls with no attachments and no emotions... until he met her.

One fateful night brought Julia and Jaxson together. They formed a friendship and a bond so strong it was unbreakable. Jaxson fought the temptation of anything more with Julia because he knew he would never be good enough for her. When he found his control slipping he left the one girl, who meant everything to him, to join the Navy.

But one passion-filled night has Jaxson letting go of fighting temptation which will forever alter their relationship.

A few years later Jaxson comes home to make things right with the one girl who’s ever meant anything to him. Except someone isn’t happy that Jaxson has returned. Someone who thinks Julia is theirs and they will stop at nothing to make sure it stays that way... forever.

Now Jaxson will not only fight to protect Julia but will also battle the new and existing demons that haunt his soul.

This is a New Adult Romance and is told from both character’s pov. Due to strong sexual content, coarse language and mature subject matter this book is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18.

This is Book One in the Men Of Honor series. It can be read as a stand alone and has a HEA. If you like hot tattooed bad boys who are possessive with major alpha personalities then this is the book for you.

Why I chose this cover:

I love the expression on the couple's face, especially the desire on the guy's face. Eyes closed, his arms wrapped around his woman. The hint of pink and blue in the title font. Denim, almost black and white photo...it's beautiful.

Oh, the man's hands? ****fans self***

I have a thing for a man's hands. And these say, strong, capable, and oh, so big.

Now its your turn to tell me what cover you're lusting over this week. Leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you.

LUSTING FOR COVERS #66 ~ SEVEN SONS by LILI ST GERMAIN

My father was most certainly NOT an innocent man. As the leader of the Gypsy Brothers MC, he was guilty of many things. But he died for a crime that he didn’t commit, framed by an enemy within who then stole his club and everything he had ever worked to protect.

Including my innocence.

When Dornan Ross framed my father, he set into motion a series of events that could never be undone. My father was murdered by Dornan Ross and his sons when I was fifteen years old.

Before my father died, Dornan and his sons stole my innocence, branded my skin and in doing so, ensured that their lives would be prematurely cut short. That they would suffer.

I’ve just turned twenty-one, and I’m out for blood. I'm out for revenge.

But I didn't expect to fall for Jase, the youngest brother in the club.

I didn't expect that he would turn my world upside down, yank my heart out of my chest and ride away into the sunset with it.

Now, I'm faced with an impossible choice - Jase, or avenging my fathers death?

Why I chose this cover:

LOVE the colors -- it's almost black and white. Just a hint of blue/gray....and a feather boa. Skin. Lots of sexy inked skin. It just grabbed my attention and gave me shivers...in a good way.

Now it's your turn to tell me what cover you are lusting over this week. Leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you!

Backbreaking days, wild nights, and the hard hum of steel between your thighs...

That’s a life well lived, according to the Desert Dogs—four friends who call Fortuity, Nevada, their badlands home. Vince Grossier is the self-crowned outlaw king around here. But when Fortuity’s slick new mayor invites a shady casino development to town, the invaders’ cutthroat takeover tactics quickly turn deadly. With police turning a suspiciously blind eye, it’s up to the locals to fight back, and Vince is on the front line. The pretty photographer hired by the developers might be the key to infiltrating the enemy. And a temptation too good to pass up.

Finally free of a controlling ex, Kim Paget’s not looking to be taken for a ride—not on the back of some tattooed roughneck’s bike and definitely not in his bed. But when she finds evidence that her bosses are rattlesnake-dangerous, Kim must entrust her safety to the man who threatens danger of a whole different kind.

Why I picked this cover ~

I am a HUGE fan of Cara McKenna's writing. Her books are delish. And when I saw that she had a new series coming out, my blood pressure may have gone a bit wonky. Love a man on a bike!

Now it's your turn to show me what cover you're lusting over...leave me a comment!

Online virile.com dating columnist Dane Martin has no plans to give up his reign as bachelor extraordinaire. He has a reputation to uphold, especially with the upcoming release of his book Coming on Strong.

Holly Winters, everyone’s favorite girl next door, thanks to her blog of the same name, gives advice, but she doesn’t always take it. When she meets Dane Martin, every fiber of her being warns her to turn tail and run. Instead, she risks her future as an authority on relationships, jeopardizing her upcoming self-help book for women struggling to find commitment among the Virile sycophants.

Has the Girl Next Door tamed the most Virile man alive, or is she just another notch on the bedpost?

******

Why I chose this cover ~

I love black and white photography and the blurred edges makes it even more pretty.

Then, the title caught my eye--very catchy, no? Mr. Virile? I am so there.

Surprised there are no tatts on this one? Yeah, me, too. But the cover and pose is just so damn sexy...

Then the blurb sounded really interesting...two writers who fall in love? This outta be good. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

What book are you lusting over? Leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you!

He’ll slay her demons, but it may cost her heart…

Four years ago Tegan Ashton was attacked. Determined never to be a victim again, she devotes her life to martial arts and self-defense. When her assailant returns to finish what he started, only one person can help her.

Gabe is a private investigator by day and demon slayer by night. After losing loved ones, he vows to defend people from a threat they don’t realize exists.

The relationship is supposed to be strictly business, but fighting demons together stirs up emotions they never expected. Turns out demon slaying is a breeze compared to facing their scarred pasts and even worse - hearts.

Why I chose this cover--

I love the way the hero's leather jacket is opened up, his bared chest. Although a little hair would have been nice, lol. But the pose makes it seem like he is in motion...stalking his prey...It's sexy.

Now it's your turn to show me what cover you're lusting over...Leave me a comment. I'd love to hear from you!

Vegas is not where Karly had imagined herself to be at this point in her life. She was supposed to be living in California, soaking up the sun and enjoying the life of an artist. Instead, she's just moving out of her parent's house and going to a school that could loosely be called her second choice. When she meets Zeus Drakos, owner of the new hit casino and resort in town, he seems just like every other jerk guy out there. How was she supposed to know who he really was?

Why I chose this cover ~

First off, I am a huge fan of mythology. One of my favorite subjects in college. Those Gods are twisted, sexy, and always stirring trouble.

Secondly--this cover is fantastic! The lightening around the model's face...the goatee...the dark hair hanging in his memorizing eyes...HOLY CRAP!

Now it's your turn to share. What cover are you lusting over this week?  Leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you.

An Inside Out novella.
Chris's POV

In a world where my only escape has been my art, Sara has been the light in my darkness. And there is darkness, the kind of inky black that can bleed from my life to hers. She doesn’t see it. She doesn’t understand what I’ve shown her. And my biggest fear is that soon…she will.

1. Leather jacket.
2.Bare chest.

5. Lisa Renee Jones.

Living for years amidst a whirlwind of fear and danger, Julia Farris finally snaps free from the bonds that kept her in Arizona. But when she arrives in her hometown of Edinboro, Pennsylvania, she realizes she’s jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire. With the death of his parents, Mark Webb went to part time at the local police department to run his parents’ bed and breakfast, a job he’s begun to think very lonely until his old high school flame shows up. As Julia tries to seize control of her life, she finds herself intrigued with the possibilities presented by Mark’s presence. But getting closer to Mark might spell disaster. What’s a girl to do when one ex might be dead and the other wears a badge?

I spotted this cover while perusing Pinterest this morning. Love the snow...the black and white title, and...Ah, hell.

Who am I kidding.

It was the sexy pose. The scruffy-scruff face. Closely shaven head. And muscled biceps.

And then the blurb? Edinboro, PA---close to where my hubby grew up. A nice PA boy can be a very good thing.

Now it's your turn to show me what cover you're lusting over--leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you!

Unable to pretend to be the perfect daughter, marry the perfect Southern gentleman, and have perfect babies like her overprotective father expects her to, Ashton Winslow and her best friend, LuLuBelle set out on a two-week vacation to change all that.

Two weeks of freedom is exactly what she craves and needs. Ashton is tired of being told she's perfect, and tired of pretending to be someone she isn't. She wants to reinvent herself, if only for a short time and she hopes Nashville is the place to do it. Preferably with a smooth talking cowboy.

With no one watching her every move, or so she thinks, Ashton finds the one person who finally sees her for the woman she wants to be.

Dane Woods has just come home from fighting overseas after losing his best friend. Everyone, including himself expects him to reenlist for another tour, but he can't break a promise he made to his dying friend.

The last thing Dane has on his mind while tailing a Southern Princess like Ashton Winslow is falling in love. She's supposed to be two week job, but it turns into so much more.

Will Dane risk everything to be with Ashton or will his lies and betrayal destroy her love for him?

Why I chose this cover:

I have a thing for black and white photos. For me, they are raw, edgy, and show much more than color.
And yes, tatts. It's my weakness. These don't look photo shopped on,  which is a huge plus. Hate those kinds of pics.

Now it's your turn to show me your cover--leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you.

Here is my candidate for the week:

War between heaven and hell is coming, but Dante Walker makes it look damn good.

Dante’s girlfriend, Charlie, is fated to save the world. And Aspen, the girl who feels like a sister, is an ordained soldier. In order to help both fulfill their destiny and win the war, Dante must complete liberator training at the Hive, rescue Aspen from hell, and uncover a message hidden on an ancient scroll.

Dante is built for battle, but even he can’t handle the nightmares where spiders crawl from Aspen’s eyes, or the look on Charlie’s face that foretells of devastation. To make matters worse, the enemy seizes every opportunity to break inside the Hive and cripple the liberators. But the day of reckoning is fast approaching, and to stand victorious, Dante will have to embrace something inside himself he never has before—faith.

Why I chose it:

TATTS ~ And it's a back tatt, which we don't get to drool over as much as those fabulous ones on the arms and sides. They are just as delish.

This series is a great read. Cannot wait to get my hands on more of that sexy bad boy Dante!

Now it's your turn to show me what cover you love this week. Leave me a comment, I'd love to hear from you.

Here is my candidate for this week:

When Hannah Nichols last saw Marco D’Alessandro, five long years ago, he broke her heart. The bad boy with a hidden sweet side was the only guy Hannah ever loved—and the only man she’s ever been with. After one intense night of giving into temptation, Marco took off, leaving Scotland and Hannah behind. Shattered by the consequences of their night together, Hannah has never truly moved on.

Leaving Hannah was the biggest mistake of Marco’s life, something he has deeply regretted for years. So when fate reunites them, he refuses to let her go without a fight. Determined to make her his, Marco pursues Hannah, reminding her of all the reasons they’re meant to be together.…

But just when Marco thinks they’re committed to a future together, Hannah makes a discovery that unearths the secret pain she’s been hiding from him, a secret that could tear them apart before they have a real chance to start over again…

Why I chose this cover ~

Well, it is ALL about the dude on this one. He is exactly how I picture my own hero on my WIP. He looks like the actor, Wentworth Miller. All olive-toned skin, shaved head, kissable lips. As soon as I saw this, I was all squirmy. Love the cover model.

Then there is the seductive pose. It looks like the hero is trying to get away, fighting the obvious attraction--but the heroine is not having it. She has her hooks, er...hands...on his face. Reeling him in. Sweet seduction.

Now, it's your turn to tell me what cover has you all squirmy this week. Leave me a comment--I'd love to hear from you!
